Why we built Onyx
Fahim has been teaching learner drivers in Bradford since December 2016. One rule from day one: never tell a learner anything he couldn't back up. No round-number pass rates. No vague "very high success." Just honest data, honest pricing, honest preparation.

Fahim Nazir
Fahim has taught learner drivers across Bradford since December 2016 — nearly a decade of test routes, hill starts, and helping nervous learners turn into confident drivers. He holds DVSA Grade A, the highest of the three grades the DVSA awards to driving instructors.
He teaches in a dual-controlled black Renault Clio, switching between English, Urdu, Punjabi and Mirpuri as the lesson needs — sometimes mid-roundabout, when a learner panics in one language and recovers in another. Patient, methodical, and honest about what each pupil needs to work on, not what they want to hear.
If you're testing at Heaton, Thornbury or Halifax, Fahim has driven those routes hundreds of times. He'll show you where the observation faults get logged, which hills catch out tired learners, and exactly what the examiner is watching for at every junction.

Ammar Nazir
Handles the business side — brand, website, the AI theory tutor, booking systems, recruitment. Fahim's son; runs Onyx as a proper business, not a family hobby. Five-year goal: scale to a small franchise of instructors all teaching to the same standard.
Where we're going
Onyx is founder-led at launch — Fahim is the only live instructor today, and that's the standard every new joiner is measured against. We're built to scale, and we're actively recruiting driving instructors across Bradford.
